Don Lewis
Don Lewis is a filmmaker, writer and storyteller from Petaluma. Using the skills developed in over 25 years of professional writing and media work, he's seen his career path and passions move more towards communications for local non-profits and groups seeking the betterment of their communities. Youth development, media literacy and sustainable farming are all areas in which Don has an interest and background.
A (nearly) lifelong Petaluma resident, Don received his BA in Communications with an emphasis on screenwriting from California State Northridge in 2004, earning Dean's List honors over 4 semesters. From there, he returned to Petaluma to start a family and continued his work in youth development as Program Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Calistoga from 2004-2012. After that he produced several films that played at film festivals such as the Sundance Film Festival, Napa Valley Film Festival, San Francisco International Film Festival and South by Southwest.
From there he moved into more communications and social media outreach roles with positions at Spring Hill School, Petaluma Community Access, Novato Community Access and the Hanna Center. In his spare time he enjoys all kinds of movies, live music, reading books and San Francisco Giants baseball. Most of all he enjoys spending time with his daughter.
