CLAM welcomes two new leaders
The Community Land Trust Association of West Marin (CLAM) is pleased to announce that two new leaders have joined the staff to guide the organization during its next significant stage of sustainable growth and development.
In making this announcement, CLAM Board President Maureen Cornelia commented, “Following a rigorous search process, CLAM is thrilled to have found two such experienced leaders to be joining our team: Pam Dorr as Executive Director and Laura J. Giacomini as Development & Communications Director. Pam and Laura each bring a depth of experience that will help guide CLAM forward into our third decade of work in creating sustainable, affordable housing for our community.”
CLAM’s search for its new executive director brought applications from several candidates who displayed the skills, dedication, and knowledge required for the job. Board members Pamela Wright, David Sherwood, and Maureen Cornelia guided the search, and were joined by dedicated community members, Donna Faure, Executive Director of Point Reyes National Seashore Association; Rebecca Porrata, retired community health nurse and longtime Inverness resident; and Pedro Toledo, Chief Administrative Officer at Petaluma Health Center.
Pam Dorr, CLAM’s new Executive Director, brings a long and successful career in developing and overseeing affordable housing organizations, including most recently as Director of Affordable Housing for a Menlo Park-based organization, Soup. “Equity and inclusion are essential for a cohesive community,” says Ms. Dorr. “The community land trust model can provide permanently affordable housing for working families to live where they work. CLAM's supporters, board, and staff have created a clear vision to avoid displacement in West Marin. I am excited to roll up my sleeves and join in.”
Laura J. Giacomini joins the organization as CLAM’s Development & Communications Director. Ms. Giacomini not only has extensive experience as a Development & Communications Director, most recently with the CERES Project based in Sonoma County, but has also been an active leader of the Marin Organizing Committee’s Immigration & Renter Protection and Affordable Housing teams since 2014. Ms. Giacomini said, “I am thrilled to be joining the CLAM team as the new Development & Communications Director. As a longtime resident of Marin, I feel passionately about CLAM’s mission to provide affordable housing to West Marin residents. I am committed to making West Marin a welcoming and diverse community by ensuring that people can afford to live here.”
CLAM looks forward to working with these two experienced and collaborative leaders. They join a team of dedicated staff, professionals, and Board of Directors, who bring their passion and talents together to support CLAM’s mission.
