Staffing Changes & New Job Opportunities at CLAM

Staffing changes are afoot at CLAM. As with many things that have happened in these COVID times, we are happy, sad, and grateful – all at one complicated time. In addition to our search for a new Executive Director, a few other CLAM staff positions are changing as we move into the new year.

After four and a half years as CLAM’s Development Director, Stephanie Roth will be stepping down from this position, while staying involved in a new role with CLAM’s capital projects. Mari Nakagawa, presently Fundraising & Communications Associate, wishes to reduce her work hours, so will be moving to a part-time position as Communications Associate. Along with a new Development & Communications Director, we will be hiring a new person to fill the Fundraising Associate role.

CLAM has gained enormously from both Stephanie and Mari’s contributions, and we’re happy that they will both continue to be involved in CLAM in important ways.

On CLAM’s property work, Ruth Lopez, CLAM’s longtime Program Manager will continue her responsibilities in two key program areas, Community Housing Solutions and Real Community Rentals. We will be hiring a new property manager to assume those responsibilities from Ruth while she joins Deputy Director Stacey Laumann in the next key developments of the former Coast Guard property. The new Property Manager will also provide support for other aspects of CLAM’s property acquisition and management work.

Finally, we’re excited that some exceptional candidates have applied for the Executive Director position, and we are on track to reach our goal of hiring a new E.D. by early in 2022.

As with the Executive Director search, please share the news about the available new positions with your friends and colleagues to help us find the next CLAMsters to join the team:

  • Development & Communications Director who will provide the leadership, strategic direction, management, and coordination for maintaining and expanding CLAM’s fundraising and communications programs;

  • Fundraising Associate who will work in partnership with the Communications Associate and report to the Development and Communications Director to support CLAM’s fundraising work for both ongoing operations and new initiatives;

  • and Property Manager who will ensure CLAM’s rental properties are occupied by income-qualified tenants, and that properties are well-maintained, and who will provide support for all other housing programs.

We hope to find great candidates for these positions. If you are interested or know someone who is, please go soon to our website at clam-ptreyes.org/job-opportunities.

Sincerely,

Mary Vradelis
Interim Executive Director
